I bought this last time & use it as a torch more than a headlamp. It simply slides off the headstrap & becomes a torch. To recharge unscrew the back & there is a USB to plug into your phone charger. There is a red light to show it's charging & it turns green when fully charged.
To turn it off hold the button down until the light goes out.
