I've just had to do the switcheroo and return/refund/re-order. They won't just refund the difference. It takes 5 minutes on amazon chat to instigate the switcheroo, then a trip to the post office, I urge everyone who bought in the last deal to do the same.
This device just works. I use it with wireless Android Auto and it boots up within a few seconds and hardly ever craps out.
I have had this in one of our cars for 10 months and it is fantastic, even in the heat of summer sitting up on the hot dashboard. The remote is really good and the screen is very easy to read. And dual dashcams when you add a (up to) 128GB microSD - higher capacity doesn't work I've tried. Reversing camera is very nice.
Sure you can buy this kind of thing for half this price on aliexpress, but this ATOTO unit is much higher quality than those. I have tried a circa $100 one and sent it back because it wouldn't reliably connect - and the screen was awful. I have just bought a second one of these P8s for our other car its that good.
The only drawback with these P8's is that you must use their camera(s) and the supplied cabling. So it usually works out much cheaper to buy the full 2 camera kit, rather than add cameras later.
NOTE: There is a P9 version in the states, which I assume is coming here if they sort out the 4G bands etc. That is basically the same thing but its running the full Android OS. Its also very expensive compared to this.
